The live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.. Check out all the major announcements and updates from D23 2024: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.. Following Peter Dinklage’s comments about the original film’s portrayal of the dwarfs in a negative light, On January 25, 2022, Disney announced that they would approach the characters in a different way, and would also consult with members of the gnome community. Many fans of the original, including Dylan Postle, noted that many of Dinklage’s remarks were inaccurate. For example, he said that gnomes did not live in a cave.
